A community built on a community.

About Anaphora

Anaphora in Greek (ἀναφορά) means “carrying up” and is the most solemn part of the Divine Liturgy during which the offerings of bread and wine are consecrated as the body and blood of Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Logos.

The mission and purpose of our platform, to provide the faithful with resources and tools that are Biblically based, spiritually rooted, and always designed to lift you up closer to Christ. To help carry you ever upward.

Anaphora is a ministry of the Coptic Diocese of Los Angeles, which is part of the ancient faith of the Coptic Orthodox Christian Church, founded by Jesus Christ through St. Mark the Apostle. Deeply rooted in faith, persecution, strength and community, the Coptic faith is rich with two thousand years of pastoral writings to help everyday martyrs be stronger in their faith in Christ.

Community

Anaphora is a community built on a community. Everything we provide is brought to you through the talents, efforts and studies of many leaders and volunteers within the Coptic Orthodox Christian Church community. We rely on the generosity of our users and any donation goes towards our ability to provide you with unique and beneficial resources.

But more than just a dollar donation, we need more talent to help build up our online community, both in content and valuable volume. The enormous volumes of patristic work available to us to draw from is enough to fill a hundred lifetimes of work.

When asked how to build a church, St. Francis was quoted as saying, “One brick at a time.” So if you would like to help, let us know.

Our Mission

Anaphora’s goal is to help “present everyone perfect in Christ.” (Colossians 1:28)
